Grape: Pinot Nero 100%
The wine is a ruby-red with a garnet-red glimmer. It has a clean, typical aroma of red berries, cherries and notes of spices. Moderately heavy, balanced and soft on the palate, it has a fresh finish with fine and spicy tannins and a good aftertaste.
Typically clean aroma with a mildly earthy note. Red berries, cherry and spices on the nose. Smooth, well-rounded flavour.
Balanced and medium-bodied. Fresh, tannic and lingering finish.
This Pinot Nero is delicious paired with hearty poultry dishes, dark meat and mature mild cheeses.
Terroir: Kaltern - Leisenpuiten: 500 m above sea level.Sandy loam with excellent water retention. Kaltern - Klughammer: 230 m above sea level. Sandy, reddish porphyry soil.
Training system: Guyot
Production process: Controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 15 days at a maximum of 28°C with subsequent malolactic fermentation.
Aging: 12 months in French barrique casks.
